Escape Zombie City was a Halloween spook house/ escape game event put on by Escape Joplin that was located in Downtown Joplin Missouri.

In 2018, players got the opportunity to spend 50 minutes locked inside the of Zinc City Police Department in an attempt to locate the key to unlock the impounded vehicle while battling zombie at every turn.

We created all the event’s brand assets from the logo to website to print materials and fan merchandise.

The Challenge.

Our creative director, Steven Feken was tasked with creating a brand and launching a website in a matter of 2 months.

The entire idea was conceived over a late night phone call with the S15 Creative Director and the Owner of Escape Joplin, Matt Friskey, after the idea of starting a one of kind spook house idea that only a brand like Escape Joplin could pull off.

The Approach.

With only 4 and a half months before the arrival of the event’s first guests, we knew the design had to be simple but effective.

We started out gaining inspiration from classic zombie movies popular video games like Resident Evil 2 to bring the event to life.

The logo.

Simple. effective was the main plan for the Escape Zombie city logo. using a classic display font like Big Noodle titling  along with the brand colors made it possible to portray the event’s bold and gritty feel.

Merch & materials.

Along with creating the logo, we creating fan merchandise such as t-shirts that were given to the events’ first ticket holders.  We also designed flyers, posters, sponsorship packets, sack packs, events tickets as well as the event’s website where tickets were sold to more than 2000 players in a month in a half.
